(SOLD) Fender American Vintage '62 Jaguar Olympic White 2009
Fender AVRI '62 Jag, made in USA 2009, yellowed olympic white. This is surely one good looking guitar. The American Vintage series were Fender's highest end production models in 2009, carrying on a traditional of recreating 'golden age'50s and 60s instruments that kicked off to great acclaim in 1982. We've had a few of these AVRI Jags through the shop, but this is the first one we've had in this colour... oh boy, it looks so cool. The white has faded and yellowed significantly, so it's more of a buttery colour now, which looks superb against the tort guard, dark rosewood board and bold gold decal. The tone is nice and jangly: bright and open, shimmery highs, snarly mids, percussive lows. It's great for articulate cleans, but still maintains some clarity when doused with distortion and ambience. The neck is a comfy rounded C shape with a bit of play wear, it's easygoing in the hands. I really like this one, it's certainly got some presence about it.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has scuffs on the end and dimples on the bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, there's a couple of scratches on the back around the 7th, 9th and 12th frets, which you can feel, but they're not a major issue feel-wise, as well as some rub wear up and down the neck. The back has some cracks in the finish only coming off the top of the neck plate, a dent and some scuffs along the belly carve, a dent in the middle of the body, scuffs in the elbow area and along the back edge and bottom corner and some rub wear on the horns. The sides have some dents and scuffs on the top horn, a decent dent and some dimples in the elbow area, dimples near the rear strap pin and some dents and scuffs near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front has has some scuffs along the back edge behind the tailpiece, dimples and rub wear in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns. The guard looks like it may have some light deliberately inflicted scratches if you look up close.
Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 7/10, minor wear only, recently polished
