Martin D-15, natural finish, made in USA 1999. The 15 Series from Martin has been around a long time, offering gorgeous rich mahogany bodies finished in a light natural satin. This one is a couple of decades old, but it's in remarkable shape for it's age and has a tone that brand new guitars can only wish for. The neck is a pretty traditional Martin slim C style shape, easy on the hands and still straight and stable. Martin invented the Dreadnought shape back in thirties, and oh boy, this is a lovely little slice of that legacy. The mahogany delivers a rich, full midrange with a big wide warmth that evens out chords beautifully. But, this isn't all gooey thickness: dig in and you get a lovely snappy clarity and singing treble to bring out the detail in fingerstyle or flatpicked lines. There's a bit of glossing from play in the high-contact areas, which for me adds a delicious little dose of vintage charm to the already-gorgeous aesthetic. I really like this, it's a gloriously simple and effective guitar that's surely full of songs waiting to come out
