(SOLD) Maton EMS-6 Mini Maton Acoustic/Electric Natural 2021
Mini Maton, natural finish, made in Australia circa 2021. Maton are fara and away the most iconic instrument maker in Australia, with a history stretching back to the 1940s. The Mini Maton has been a fan favourite for a while now: aww, so cute. This one is a more recent version, so you get the solid spruce top paired with the lovely solid VIC blackwood back and sides. It's a punchy little thing: it's bright with a pronounced midrange honk, which is great for fingerstyle or blues stuff. The AP5 pickup has been a longtime over achiever, so it sounds great plugged in. The case is nice too, it looks great. This one has had a factory-repaired crack, see the notes in the condition section, so it's priced accordingly. Upgrade your couch/van life!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end, scuffs on the back near the top and a discoloured patch on the front near the logo. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, there's minor dimples and it's rubbed to a gloss finish. The back has rub wear along the top edge and elbow area and near the neck join, as well as some dimples along the bottom edge. The sides have rub wear on the top shoulder and elbow area, dimples near the jack and some rub wear on the bottom horn. The front has rub wear near the bridge and in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and shoulders. There's a hairline crack running from the soundhole to the back edge of the top that has previously been repaired under warranty at the Maton factory with a glue injection. Our technician has inspected the repair, it's structurally sound and reinforced by the existing bracing under the hood, so it's not a functional concern. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets are in reasonable shape with no major buzz issues and slight pitting,7/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 11/52 Elixir strings.
