(SOLD) Takamine Pro Series P3D Acoustic/Electric 2012
Takamine P3D, natural satin, made in Japan 2012. Takamine have been building beautiful acoustic instruments in the shade of Mt Takamine in Japan since 1959. They enjoy a dedicated following, and for good reason. This is a beautiful guitar, it's really got a lot going for it. First, the traditional stuff: it's a dreadnought shape with a dovetail neck join and an X-braced top. The top is high grade solid cedar, and the back is solid mahogany. Takamine's luthiers 'tap tune' the top, so it's thinned and braced by hand to ensure the best sonic results. There's some classic-Tak innovations too: pinless bridge for easy string changes, split saddle for better intonation and their signature asymmetrical neck shape. The neck is a little thinner on the bass side, designed to match the shape of your hand, and it works a treat: it just feels right. The tone on offer is warm, full and balanced. The cedar top is a little warmer and darker than spruce, which translates to a gooey complexity through the mids. It's quite loud when you dig in hard, but it has a certain sweetness that rewards a delicate touch. Takamine were early adopters on pickup systems, so this sounds great plugged in and is super easy to use. If you're after a working guitar for long shows but want something a little classier and more refined than the usual Maton SRS70c, this is a fantastic option. Tak me down anytime!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the back only. The back has minor scuffs on the top shoulder. The sides have no major marks. The front has some fading around the bridge, a dimple in the elbow area and bottom corner, a small filled dent on the top shoulder and some play wear on the shoulders. Overall: excellent condition (9/10).
Playing condition notes: action is moderately, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. The frets have minor wear only, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 12/54 D'Addario strings.
