This says 'Bass' on it, and I can confirm that as a cute little valve-driven bass practice amp, it's a lot of fun. But, I reckon it's even better as a guitar amp. The 'volume' control basically acts like a gain knob, so you can get a pretty sweet clean on 4-6, or max it right out and really get the party started. The tone when cranked is kinda like an oversized Fender Champ: heaps of punchy, rich midrange with a juicy natural compression. It's awesome for Neil Young-ish rock rhythm stuff, plug an LP style guitar in and go nuts. The 1979 version of this amp has a silver faceplate, this one was made in 1980 when Fender switched back to black, but by 1981 the amp was discontinued. This one lived at my place for a while in my personal stash, so I can definitely vouch for it. Is a Musicmaster kinda like a Pokemon Master?
