Avedis Zildjian K 21" Custom Special Dry Ride (Preowned)

This guy's cool hey! The unlathed goodness is upper tier with plenty of features in the alloy to gawk at. Dropping in at medium thin, this guy has plenty to play with and more articulation than you can poke a stick at. (ha)

Give it a play you say?

Sure thing. Hmmmm..

Describe it to you?

The bow has a lot of stick to offer with a touch of dark wash, minimal trashiness and a pinch of sweetness.

Play the edge?

That stick persists toward the edge. The dryness carries throughout with a short dark wash. Relatively closed sound. Earthy as ever.

What about the bell?

It's pronounced, dark and.. well.. dry. It's a classy bell sound that cuts through without taking you to ping-town.

Verdict: We think it's great! If you want something with plenty of bounce that won't wash away all your tasty ride chops, this is likely the one. It plays nicely with most other cymbals and is highly workable in most contexts, especially funk, jazz, soul, hip hop, rnb, etc.
