(SOLD) Fender Japan '57 Stratocaster ST57-TX Gunmetal Blue 2008
Fender '57 Strat, US gunmetal blue, made in Japan 2007-10. This is gorgeous, what a sleek machine. The finish is somewhere between grey, blue and black, depending on the angle and mood you're in on the day. It catches the light beautifully, and paired with the golden maple board and crisp cream guard, it's a very appealing aesthetic indeed. The combo of the overwound Texas Special pickups and the alder body make for a juicy tone: heaps of natural thickness and punch through the low end, balanced by a piquant and expressive top end... Strat spank, but with plenty of attitude and enough grunt to get your amp cooking beautifully. The mildly beefy 50s style D shape neck is intuitive and reassuring in the hands, it's blessed with some very pretty tight grain patterns and just feels right. These high-end MIJ models will give a good scare to many pricier USA models for tone and feel, it's just such a well-executed piece of gear. All class, friends.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. The headstock has some minor scuffs on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has a few light scuffs near the neck plate and around the cavity, no major marks. The sides have some light scuffs in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has a couple of tiny dimples near the bridge, as well as some standard play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets are looking good, minor wear only; 8/10 for fret life left. Set up with fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
