Jagard DR-250 dreadnought acoustic, made in Japan 1982. Jagard branded guitars were made in the famed Terada factory, the same place Gretsch Pro Series guitars come out of today. It's a well regarded factory for good reason: they've been making gorgeous instruments for a long time now. The basic premise of this starts with the design of the luminous Martin D-28, so you get a traditional square shoulder dreadnought with a spruce/rosewood body and a mahogany neck, vintage style X-bracing and cute herringbone binding. The headstock is a funky shape, plus it's got some cute tort tuners and the neck is blessed with little snowflake inlays, adding a bit of visual flair. It sounds terrific, that's no exaggeration. It's got a punchy, full low end with a rich, almost vocal-esque midrange and an understated but assertive treble. It's a gorgeous strummer and would record like a dream, as well as being nuanced enough to handle fingerstyle stuff with ease. The neck is a comfy and very sturdy piece of mahogany, carved to a slim soft-V profile and blessed with a very pretty rosewood board. It feels like a far pricier guitar in the hands, you can really feel the love that went into this as they were basically made entirely by hand. New guitars just don't warm the cockles like this one does!

The front is pretty tidy, just a couple of dimples on the bottom shoulder near the edge, the top shoulder near the soundhole and some standard play wear on and around the guard. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets look nice and even and in pretty good shape, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 12/54 Moonshiners strings.
