This is pretty kick-ass. Edwards falls under the ESP umbrella, mostly offering vintage Fender and Gibson styled models to the domestic Japan market. They do some J-rock signature models, as well as some 'twist on the classic' hyper playable offerings, like this one. This takes the classic Jazz Bass and maxes it: five strings, ash body, 35\" scale, active preamp, quick neck, quilted top... lush. The sound is punchy and immediate, with plenty of midrange growl on offer and a very strong, fast low end. At 4.7kg this is pretty manageable for an ash body 5, and the comfy neck means you don't feel like you're working too hard. The quilt top is stained black and red for a gloomy cherry cola brightness, it's certainly a cool look.
