Fender Japan '70 Precision Bass PB70-700 Sienna Burst 1990

Fender '70 P, sienna burst, made in Japan 1990. This one is a special one! These early Fujigen made Fender basses always absolutely pop in the hands; they're such beautifully made instruments. This one is feather-light, with a super slick and arrow-straight moderately slim C neck and a body that rings like a bell. The combo of a lightweight ash body, USA pickup and a rosewood slab board offer a super juicy, thick and immediate P-punch, balanced by a snappy treble and a warm, wide midrange. At the time this beauty was made, shops could special order little runs of a model in a non-catalog finish; so that seems to be what happened here; hence the stamped 'order made' neck pocket. This model usually only comes in vintage white, so the gorgeous caramel orange with the grain of a stunning piece of ash showing through is very unusual and a visual delight. Chances of seeing another one in this finish come up any time is basically nil, so claim it while you can!
