The 1970 version of the Precision Bass got big bold CBS-era decals, a slightly slimmer neck, a three-ply black pickguard and the single-slot bridge, an alder body and a poly finish, so this model gets all that as tribute. The neck is a winner: at 40mm at the nut, it's halfway between a typical 42mm P and a traditional 38mm Jazz Bass, and it feels fantastic. At a nudge over 4kg, this is a pretty lightweight example, and it's all around easy to play. The alder body and USA pickup make for a clear and percussive take on the classic P growl and warmth.
