The 'Blackguard' style Tele is etched into the brain of basiucally every guitar player: it's the quintessential electric guitar really. Fender Japan made the TL52 model in various forms continually from 1982-2015, but with some corporate structure changes came some lineup changes, so this Made in Japan Classic model replaced the TL52 for a year or two before the launch of the Traditional series that is still around today. You get some classic 50s style specs: skinny headstock, spaghetti logo, bone nut, maple fretboard and black dot inlays, single ply black pickguard, ash body and the three saddle bridge. This version got a moderately slim C shaped neck, which is super comfy and easy to get along with. The tone is great: fat and full down low, glassy and clear on the top, abundant midrange kick on the bridge pickup especially. The sides have minor dimples around the whole body, as well as some dents near the jack.
