Fernandes Limited Edition PJR-45 Bass White 1986
Fernandes PJR-45 bass, white, made in Japan around 1986. Fernandes have enjoyed long standing popularity in Japan for several decades now. This saucy piece dates to the mid 80s, as if the matching headstock and 'reverse tuxedo' finish didn't make that obvious enough. It's a cool Precision-style body with a handy P/J pickup setup, so you can dial in a few different tones depending on the situation. The neck is a comfy modern C shape, measuring 40mm at the nut which puts it halfway between a trad P and J in width... kinda perfect really. It's nice and light and naturally loud unplugged; it feels great. There's a few dings and marks around the place, plus the white has yellowed significantly to a slightly seasick creamy yellow; it looks cool. If you're after a handy do-it-all bass, here's a cute little piece of the 80s that'll surely get the party started.
