You get some nice vintage style appointments you only find on the fanciest of Fender models: ash body, spiral saddle bridge, reverse tuners... classy stuff. You also get the slightly unusual but also cool painted neck and headstock; combined with the black-on-black finish and a dark rosewood board, this is all sorts of awesome. Tone-wise, there's a whole lot to like. Heaps of grunt and snap balancing a warm, throaty punch; it's a big fat delight. The feel of these vintage MIJ Yamaha instruments is top notch; the build quality and consistency is exceptional. The sides have minor scuffs around the whole body.
