Topshelf and COVID19

Posted by Simon Grubb on

Good morning friends!

Well, we officially live in strange times. The COVID19 virus is loose on the streets of Hobart and around the world, so we're doing what we can to stay safe, spread joy and ride this out. That means a couple of changes for now.

Firstly, as an aid for social distancing measures, and to hopefully add a little sparkle in the eye to our friends in isolation, we're offering free shipping on everything within Australia until 30 June. There's a code in the banner on the website, use that and you're away. We've also doubled the length of our 'whatever reason' returns policy to twenty days; so if you don't like it, just send it back.

Our Hobart store remains open at this stage. We'll have hand sanitiser on deck and make sure people's hands are clean before they're touching instruments. We'll disinfect surfaces often and limit the number of customers in the shop at any time to make sure we all keep a healthy distance. Obviously if you are sick, we appreciate your efforts to self isolate and we'll see you once you're given the all clear. If we have to close the store or move to a 'by appointment' basis in due course owing to the unfolding situation, we'll announce that at the time.

There's a whole lot of musicians and other music industry workers who will be hit extremely hard by event cancellations and other social distancing measures, both financially and in terms of wellbeing. My heart goes out to all those folk for whom this next few months looks extremely challenging; I'm hoping to figure out some way to help in due course. Plus, to all those who actually get the virus and become unwell, our prayers are with you for a swift recovery.

Let's take a minute to acknowledge our brilliant, dedicated and selfless health workers. While we are currently enjoying relative calm, if things become half as dire as predicted, we will owe our local doctors, nurses and support staff an enormous debt of gratitude and honour.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's do this together!

Simon
