Fender Japan '62 Stratocaster ST62-US Old Lake Placid Blue 2008
Fender '62 Strat, old lake placid, made in Japan 2007-10. What a beautiful colour! The 1962 version of the Strat was blessed with a gold spaghetti decal, a slab rosewood fretboard, 3-ply mint guard, stamped saddle bridge and three snazzy single coils, so this fine specimen gets all that good stuff too. It's a nice lightweight example, and the neck is a perfectly comfy slim vintage C shape, so it's a joy in the hands. The tone is cool and clear, with a rounded weighty bass on the neck pickup and a creamy, slicing jangle on the bridge and middle. The finish is the darker take on lake placid, which is super fly in my books. Strat yourself to ecstasy.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has minor scuffs on the elbow area. The sides have minor dimples on the bottom horn. The front has dimples in the elbow area and play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
