Yamaha SF3000 Super Flighter, red sunburst, made in Japan 1981. The Super Flighter is a Yamaha original shape that debuted in the late 70s; they enjoyed critical acclaim at the time and a experience a bit of a cult following now. This model was made for one year only; it's such a cool recipe. The set neck construction and solid alder body are super resonant; the neck is a slim and super sturdy two piece maple; it feels very lively and snappy in the hands. The upper fret access is easy and the neck profile is super cooperative; it's not a typical 'shred' profile but it plays super quick. The single splittable humbucker cranks out snarly, rich growl with a bit of overdrive. Split the pickup and wind back the tone and you're in a different world; it's a gooey warm delight. The shape is pretty unique and the cherry burst finish has aged beautifully; it looks awesome in a wonky-vintage-MIJ kinda way. There's a reason we lose our minds for vintage Yamaha guitars around here, come find out why.

The sides have minor dimples in the elbow area and bottom horn and some minor scuffs near the jack. The front has some minor dimples under the strings and near the knobs, some light scuffs around the bridge and some play wear on both horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly.
