Fender Bassman Ten 4x10" Guitar/Bass Combo Amp
Fender Bassman Ten combo, made in USA 1972-3. We've had a Silverface Bassman in the shop since day dot, and it's not for sale. It works pretty hard in the shop as our go-to amp for guitar demos and folks trying out guitars and basses. The thing sounds so good. And, guess what? We got another one! Here it is for your viewing pleasure. These combos share some similarities with 'the amp that started it all', the 1959 Bassman. The 4x10" speaker setup is incredibly punchy, delivering a thick and fast low end that a 2x12" cannot match. As a bass amp, it's super warm, round and full, with a nice little growl when you turn it up. It prefers four strings to fives, being made a decade or so before the low-B was ever added to a bass. As a guitar amp, you've got to wind most of the bass out most of the time, but dang: it's quite an experience. Clean, punchy, fat, but chiming and expansive up top too. This will record beautifully, get along with just about any guitar, and look amazing in your house or stage show. It took me far too long to discover how absolutely joyous it is to turn the channel and master volumes to ten and let rip: it's loud, but oh boy, life is grand. It's taken us seven years to score a spare, so you've probably got one shot at this one sister!
