Charvel Model 1B Black 1988
Charvel Model 1B, black, made in Japan 1988. It's a P, but with a dose of shred-cred. The late 80s saw Charvel under the ownership of Jackson, with both brands built out of the reputable Chushin Gakki factory. This has a comfy, fast neck with a fun pointy matching headstock; it feels great. The tone on offer is pretty close to a 60s style P, although the pickup is slightly hotter. It's fat, punchy and thick and will fill out the bottom of a mix with gusto. If you're a little too edgy for a Fender but keen to enjoy the P-lifestyle, here's your ticket.
