Cool Z ZPB-V/R Sonic Blue 2017
Cool Z ZPB-V/R, sonic blue, made in Japan 2017. Cool Z is the house brand for major Japanese instrument chain Shimamura, who have stores all over Japan. They're made at the legendary Fujigen Gakki plant, the very same factory that made all those famous Fender Japan guitars from 1982-96 as well as producing Ibanez Prestige and other tasty morsels to this day. As such, this is made to a superb standard. It's got a neck that's a bit of a halfway point between a vintage-style Jazz Bass and vintage Precision, so it's a slim, rounded profile without being too skinny. Between the easy neck and the lightweight body, it's very cooperative and fun to play. The tone is classic P stuff: hefty lows and mids, understated but musical treble, with a plump and pleasing attack that will sit perfectly in a mix. The summery finish is sure to please too, it's ready for the pool parties and punk shows to follow. Coolzies!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the back. The back has very minor scuffs along the belly carve and elbow area. The sides have scuffs in the elbow area. The front has scuffs around the bridge and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
