Fender American Standard Precision Bass Purple Metallic 1999
Fender American Standard P, made in USA 1999, Purple Metallic finish, What a colour! It turns out Fender were offering this as a factory finish for a handful of years in the late 90s, and oh boy, I'm super in for it. There's a dapper fine silver flake through the plum pearl, it's gorgeous. The Am Standard line was always a solid performer, so this works exactly how it should too. The neck is sturdy and super comfy, with a nice slick satin finish. The hardware is reliable and the body is a pretty moderate weight, it's easy to work with. The tone is a tight and punchy take on the classic P growl, with a nice chirpy top end and round, controlled lows. This will look killer on stage and will surely nail the brief.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has no major marks. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the back only. The back has minor scuffs along the belly carve, elbow area and around the string bushings. The sides have dimples in the elbow area and scuffs near the jack. The front has scuffs around the bridge and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
