Fender Japan Pro Feel Jazz Bass JBR-80M Vintage Natural 1986
Fender Pro Feel Jazz Bass, Vintage Natural, made in Japan 1986. These Pro Feel series instruments were Fender Japan's 'modern' offerings in the mid to late eighties, after the discontinuation of the Boxer series. This one takes the 70s-style Jazz Bass and adds some mod cons: easy access neck heel, flatter radius, quick-change bridge, active preamp. At 3.7kg, it's gloriously lightweight, and the natural resonance and volume on offer is exemplary. The pickups have been swapped out for some Lindy Fralin 60s style jobs, and they sound great. It's fast, fat and punchy with plenty of growl and snap. The aged natural finish looks rad too, it's got a golden-syrup glow to it. So Pro, many Feel.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples on the end and edges and some scuffs on the front and back. The is clean and smooth in the hands, dimples and rub wear on the back and some rub wear on the edges of the board only. The back has minor dimples on the horns, belly carve, back edge and elbow area and some scuffs around the control cavity. The sides have minor dimples and scuffs around the whole body as well as some dents near the jack. The front has scuffs around the bridge, knobs and around the neck heel, as well as dimples in the elbow area, pickups and bottom horn.
Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing Condition Notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 7/10, minor wear only
