Norma Offset Bass Black 1967
Norma Bass, made in Japan 1966-8 approx, black. Norma guitars were made in Japan for USA-based retailers Drum & Strum, named after founder Norman Sackheim. The exact model number on this one has proved a little tricky to ascertain, but it sure is a cool thing. The offset body, wonky big tort guard, double thumbnail inlays and matching headstock make for a cool look. It's playing pretty well: the neck is behaving, it holds tune fine and the body has plenty of natural resonance. The tone is warm and round with a generous midrange punch, it will cover surf, punk and indie stuff perfectly. Cool hey?
