Rickenbacker 4003 Fireglo 1991
Rickenbacker 4003, fireglo, made in USA 1991. I love these, you love these, we all love these. This gorgeous creature arrived covered in stickers and a little worse for wear, but it's been nursed back to health and sparkle by our diligent house tech. Fireglo is Ric's take on the classic cherry sunburst, and I feel they do it better than anyone else. This has seen many, many hours of play over the decades, so the finish has a bunch of scuffs, marks, dimples and fading, and frankly, it looks like a million bucks. The tone is classic Ric stuff: huge low end with heaps of punch, snarly mean highs and a grunty growl through the mids. It's fairly lightweight as these go, and balances well in the hands. Remember that one scene in Scott Pilgrim vs The World?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has dimples, scuffs and dents on the end and edges, scuffs on the back and some small surface scratches and scuffs on the front. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, rub wear on the treble side of the board and some dimples, very small dents and scuffs on the back only. The back has a decent bald patch and some dimples and scuffs on the top horn, scuffs on the bottom horn, belly carve and bottom and back edges and some dents and scuffs in the elbow area. The sides have surface scratches and scuffs on the top horn, dents and scuffs in the elbow area, back edge and near the jack and some dimples on the bottom horn. The front has dimples around the knobs and bridge, scuffs and dimples in the elbow area and around the pickups and some dimples and play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 7/10, minor wear, recently polished
