Barclay LP style with Lucite body, made in Japan mid 1990s, clear yellow. I saw this one pop up overseas for sale and just had to nab it... it's such a cool piece. These Barclay guitars popped up in the mids 90s; some of the models seem to have an equivalent in the Fernandes or Aria Pro II brands but Barclay had a whole catalog of offerings at the time. It's a Lucite body, also called plexiglass or acrylic, shaped like a Les Paul, with a bolt on maple neck and a matching clear yellow headstock. It's an absolutely wild look, it's just so cool. I can imagine it doing it's best work in a live setting, under lights it'd look spectacular. The tone on offer is a lot of fun to. The unusual body lends the sound a huge, weighty bottom end: it's so fat and full, it sounds amazing. There's plenty of grindy girth in the mids and a little twist of sour sweetness on the top end, it's a great sounding guitar. Ten points to you if you can find another one of these for sale anywhere in the world.
