(ARCHIVE) Used Ludwig Pioneer Snare Drum Gold Sparkle 1964
- Description
- Guitarchives
Ludwig Pioneer snare in gold sparkle, 1964, 14x5.5". These six-lug models are very light, and while you don't get the same accuracy in tuning than with an eight or ten lug snare, they have a lovely open, warm tone with a singing fundamental note. Plus, it takes you half the time to change the heads! She's looking very good for her 53 years, with no major cosmetic or functional issues. The tone of these vintage 3-ply shells is so appealing, new drums just don't sound like this! The gold sparkle/glitter wrap looks amazing under lights, it's mellowed a little with age and looks super classy. Great vintage Ludwig tone for a great price.
