Slingerland Gene Krupa Signature Sound King COB snare, 14x6.5", dating to 1976-77. These old Slingerland COBs are beautiful snares that have a great singing tone to them; they hold their own nicely in a huge range of applications. The chrome finish is in great condition, and although there's some pitting etc on the hoops, the condition is pretty good for a 40 year old drum. The stick-saver hoops are a nice halfway point between triple-flanged and die-cast; they're sturdy and hold tune nicely without choking the tone. This is a great example of a vintage COB snare and will certainly reinforce the notion that 'they don't make them like they used to'.

Throw-off works fine, internal dampener removed. There's some pitting on the hoops especially as pictured, but they'll hold up for decades to come. Tunes up easily, no issues with lugs or tension rods. Overall: good players condition.
