Bacchus Handmade Woodline Alder, burgundy mist, made in Japan 2010. These Bacchus Woodline basses are definitely a shop favourite: they're terrific basses, really and truly. This one dates to 2010-11 and features the 60s-style combo of an alder body with a rosewood fretboard. The ash/maple examples seem to pop up more often, and this is definitely the first example we've had through in this very fetching finish. It looks superb: the lacquer style finish lends an understated smoothness to the pearlescent pink-purple, it's so classy. This has a great neck, with a slim JB-style 38mm nut and a fast playing C shape, carved from some beautiful tightly grained maple and streaky dark rosewood. The house-made pickups are great too, with a great balance of bark and growl when you dig in with that hi-fi sweetness under a light touch. If you're after a J-style bass but disinclined to pay plenty for an F-logo that doesn't necessarily equate to much craftsmanship, this is your little life hack and secret sauce. And heck, look at it, right?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a dent and some scuffs on the end and some dimples on the bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and some rub wear on the back, which now appears more gloss than satin. The back has some scuffs on the belly carve, elbow area and near the neck plate, and some dimples along the back edge. The sides have scuffs on the top horn, elbow area and near the jack. The front has scuffs in the elbow area and around the bridge, some dimples near the jack and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing Condition Notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 8/10, minor wear only
