Burny FB-80Z, made in Japan 1990, cardinal red. This is supremely cool. Burny was a sub-brand of Fernandes, one of Japan's longest running and most successful guitar makers, mostly producing Gibson-style instruments from the late 70s til the mid 90s. This particular beauty is a quirky little signature model; Matsuo Sounin played guitar for the then-massive J-rock outfit ZIGGY and this was his model. It's a pretty classic take on the Firbid V, but with three full size humbuckers, a bolt on neck, a brass nut, banjo style tuners and a striking red finish. It's superbly made; the neck is a delight in the hands and the body rings very truly. Plugged in, the three HBs deliver a raucous and crispy tone with a heap of attack and a sweet singing midrange. It's nicely balanced in the hands and loud and enthusiastic unplugged. If you don't like it, maybe seek some professional help?
