Burny Swanker Spider PSG-55, pale pink, made in China 2007. These Swanky Spider models are rad, my understanding is that they popped up briefly in the late 00s as a signature series for an all girl Japanese supergroup that never quite eventuated... details are a little foggy, so forgive me if I'm wrong. This is a take on the classic '61 style Gibson SG. The finish is awesome: it's a sweet gloss shell pink style hue, which is sure to look supremely dope on stage. The 12th fret star inlays and skull on the headstock add a bit of kitsch-goth charm into the mix for good measure. The neck is a moderate profile: not skinny, but not a tree-trunk; it's easy to get along with and well balanced against the body so as not to 'dive' when strapped up. The tone is a growly, dark and immediate take on the classic SG bark: beefy mids and a fat, juicy low end with a tasty subtle treble. It's easy to fall in love with this one, it has so much attitude. Black Sabbath meets Barbie Dreamhouse.
