Cool Z ZPB-1M, two tone sunburst, made in Japan 2009. Perfect punchy p! Cool Z is a house brand for major Japanese instrument chain Shimamura, who have stores all over Japan. They're made at the famed Fujigen Gakki plant, the very same factory that made all those famous Fender Japan guitars from 1982-96 as well as producing Ibanez Prestige and other high end instruments to this day. This is very convincing in the hands: it's lightweight but still well balanced, resonant and responsive and built with outstanding precision (ha) and care. The neck feels awesome: it looks like a chunky 50s style P, but it's a little slimmer at the nut and carved to a very agreeable C shape, so you don't have to work too hard. Plugged in, it's all there: meaty low end with a strong fundamental note, generous growl through the mids and a tasty touch of snappy sweetness on top. Now, it would seem a previous owner has done a bit of a relic job on that top horn, which is a little odd. From a foot or two away it looks great, and there's no problem with the feel... I'm kinda on board for it honestly, it's got a vibe. This is dangerously close in price to a  new Squier Classic Vibe P, and if you buy one of those and then play this later and realise what you missed out on, you will cry many sad tears of regret. ZP FTW.

The back has dimples in the middle of the body and elbow area and some scuffs in the bottom corner. The sides have some minor dimples on the top horn and elbow area, as well as some dimples and dents near the  jack and some scuffs on the bottom horn. The front has a presumably deliberately inflicted rub wear patch on the top horn, and some scuffs behind the bridge and in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and bottom horn. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear only, 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
