Cort KX-Custom, made in Korea 2007, trans grey. This is a classy little shred machine. The Cort factory in Korea has made a lot of guitars for a lot of big brands like Ibanez, PRS, Fender and more, so they know how to get it done well. On first look, this looks a but like a PRS Custom 24. It feels similar too: slick quick neck with jumbo frets and a speed-friendly flatter radius board, easy upper fret access via a smooth neck joint, headstock volute etc are all in the PRS-genre. The pickups are taken from a vintage Yamaha SG, so they're excellent quality PAF-voiced humbuckers. The tone is in the LP-vein; heaps of crunch and bite with a singing midrange and a big bottom end. The flame maple is a lovely piece and peeps through the classy grey finish beautifully. There's a lot to like here, so if being awesome is more important the the logo on the headstock, here's your new buddy.
