(ARCHIVE) Duesenberg Starplayer DJP-SP Surf Green 2000

Duesenberg DJP-SP Starplayer, surf green, made in Germany circa 2000. This model was made briefly for Japan market owing to the huge popularity of Japan's acclaimed Starplayer-slinger, Ringo Sheena. It's not as tricked-out as a Starplayer TV, but the build quality and aesthetic is still very elegant. The appointments are nice: Duesenberg humbuckers with a push/pull coil split, Kluson tuners, D-branded Bigsby style trem... all on a tasty semi-hollow mahogany body. The mahogany body lends this a slightly darker, gooey quality; although it still has that certain hi-fidelity 'ping' that defines the Duesenberg sound. The neck is a comfy slim shape, the body is lightweight and the hardware all works convincingly, so it feel great in the hands. The fetching surf green paint job ties it all together with verve. This is about a third the price of a brand new Starplayer TV, so you'll have enough change to buy yourself a ticket to Germany to fill up on pretzels and bier. Sehr gut!
