Edwards E-LP-105CD/P LP Custom style, dark cherry red, made in Japan 2014. This is a lovely guitar, it's so slick. Edwards is the vintage style division of ESP Guitars, so they're made in Japan to an exceptional standard and generally inspired by classic designs from Gibson and Fender. This one is styled after the original 1954 Les Paul Custom, so you get the bling: bound ebony board, block inlays, seven ply double binding, gold hardware... nice. In a handy '54 style twist, and unlike just about every other LP Custom we've had through, this is blessed with a pair of Duncan SP90 soapbar single coils. The pickups are superb. The neck pickup is thick, full and weighty through the low end, but with a pleasing clarity and sparkle on the top. The bridge pickup has heaps of growl and crunch, but with a gorgeous shimmer on the top end that makes sure all your notes come out in brilliant detail. The neck is moderately slim shape, not tiny but not too fat... comfy and easy, basically. The body is on the lighter side for an LP Custom and rings truly even with a light touch, it feels very lively in the hands. The Gotoh tuners and bridge are super sturdy and hold tune fervently. The cherry finish is dark and lux, it almost looks black in certain lights but lights up in brilliant red in others. Paired with the gold hardware and ebony board, it's dressed to kill. These don't come around very often, so if you'r after a classy character with P-90s, here's your shot at the title.
