Epiphone Lucille, made in Korea 2000, black gloss. There's not many players who cast a shadow as large as BB King, he's the influence behind the influencers and a true giant of the instrument. The Lucille model is based off BB's modified Gibson ES355, so it's got a varitone switch, a fancy bridge with fine tuners and stereo outputs for all your manic double-amp desires. You can still get a new one of these, but this one was made in the Peerless factory in Korea a couple of decades ago, whereas new examples come out of China. The build and finish quality on these MIK Epiphones is very good: this feels really tight and tidy and the details are all executed really well. The neck is slim and agreeable, it's similar in shape to a Gibson slim 60s profile. The tone on offer is dark and gooey, with a long sustain and heaps of warmth. It's tasty and full for cleans, but it does it's best work with an overdriven tube amp playing legato leads and juicy chords. There's a lot to like here!
