(SOLD) Epiphone Japan Les Paul Custom LPC-80 Alpine White 2000
Epiphone LPC-80 Les Paul Custom, alpine white, made in Japan 2000. These Japanese-made Epiphone models followed on from the Orville brand that was active in the 90s. They were made at the iconic Fujigen Gakki factory and were blessed with the Gibson-style 'open book' headstock. This one arrived in need of some love, so we arranged a full re-wire with deluxe components, a new guard and new pickup surrounds, as well as our standard cleanup and full setup. It plays really well: the neck is straight and sturdy, carved to a moderate slim 60s shape and blessed with superb fret and finish work, the body is lightweight and resonant and the whole thing just feels 'right'. Plugged in, you get a juicy thick tone with plenty of detail. The pickup is rich and dark with a plump midrange, whilst the bridge pickup is open and biting with a certain creaminess that adds depth and fullness. The white and gold combo is delightfully flashy and will surely look great on stage. This will give a lot of USA made guitars a proper scare and certainly counts as a hidden gem in my book.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a minor chip on the end, a scuff on the bottom edge and a minor scratch on the back near the low E tuner. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has some dimples near the neck joint, around the control cavity and in the elbow area, as well as widespread minor scuffs around the body. The sides have some minor dimples on the top horn and elbow area, some scuffs near the jack and a dent on the bottom horn. The front has a few scuffs in the elbow area, around the bridge posts and near the knobs, as well as some standard play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear only, 9/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
