Epiphone LP Custom, alpine white, made in Korea 2005. The build quality on the 1995-05ish Korean made Epiphone guitars is very good, and increasingly, they're enjoying a good reputation. This one feels great in the hands. First up, it's light: at 3.6kg, it's a good 1kg lighter than many LPs we get through. It's also got a super comfy slim C style neck, whereas the newer models have a tapered D profile. I like the slim round shape, it's very agreeable. The resonant body transfers plenty of natural bass response through to the pickups, so this has all your dark doomy stoner tones covered. The bridge pickup delivers a nice dash of complexity and midrange focus, and with a generous attack this cuts through nicely. The white finish looks all the better for some some fading, although it must be said this is in amazing shape for seventeen years old. There's a lot to like here! MIK FTW.
