(SOLD) Epiphone Sheraton II Natural Gloss Korea 2008
Epiphone Sheraton II, natural gloss, made in Korea 2008. A big bodied semi-hollow in a natural finish is always a winner for me. From the late 90s to the early 00s, a decent portion of Epiphone stuff was made in Korea, and they were really nicely made things. This feels great: it's pretty light for the genre, naturally resonant and made with care, plus the five piece laminate neck feels very agreeable in the hand. Plugged in, this delivers a warm, thick midrange with heaps of definition and complexity, capped off with a lovely silky top end. The five-ply binding, gold hardware and fancy inlays add some flare to the simplicity of the gloss natural look, it looks a treat. There's a lot to enjoy here, it's a sweet machine.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some light scuffs on the back and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has no major marks, just some light scuffs on the top horn, elbow area and back edge. The sides have some light dimples in the elbow area and near the jack, as well as some light scuffs on the bottom horn. The front has a decent dent in the elbow area, a couple of light scuffs near the jack, a crack in the guard near the arm and some standard play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets look pretty tidy, 8/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
