Fender '52 Reissue Telecaster, crafted in Japan 2004-5, vintage natural. This is a very tasty Tele indeed. There's a few different '52 style models in the Fender Japan catalog, and this is one of the most deluxe offerings, so you get some nice appointments: brass saddle bridge, Fender USA Custom Shop Texas Special pickups, proper USA lightweight ash body... the good stuff. All that really adds up when you plug it in: the tone is very appealing indeed. There's heaps of natural lows and a thick, juicy midrange balancing the traditional-twang. The Texas-pickups have a but more output and a slightly scooped midrange, so this eats up overdrive with a more enthusiasm than a regular Tele. These high-end CIJ Teles easily hold their own against anything out of the USA plant; this is built with a whole lot of care and attention. If you've got a Tele-shaped hole in your life and you're after something with a whole lot of class and an understated elegance... meet your new bestie.
