Fender '62 Reissue P, refinished to metallic blue, crafted in Japan 1999-02. This is a bass with a wild past, but it's got a bright future on account of it's awesomeness. The finish is non-original and isn't perfect (see notes below), but it's a sweet colour and pops nicely against the tort guard and rosewood board. This is the deluxe model of it's day, so you get an alder body and a vintage correct spiral saddle bridge. The pickup has been swapped out for a Dimarzio Model-P, which is a bit hotter than the stock option and really adds a stack of thump and growl to the tone; this really does sound awesome. The neck is perfectly shaped and feels excellent; both the maple and rosewood feature some pretty grain patterns. The bass is nicely weighted and very resonant, it's a delight in the hands. If you like your Ps a little boisterous and full of punk-charm, this one is sure to please.
Model: Fender Precision Bass '62 Reissue, PB62-70US
Made: Japan, Tokai plant, 1999-02 (serial P036326)
Finish: metallic blue, 3-ply tort guard (both non-original)
Body: alder
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Weight: 4.2kg approx
Mods: refinished, guard replaced
Pickup: Dimarzio Model P passive single coil
Case: basic non-original gig bag
Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The refinish is largely pretty well done, but along the top and bottom side of the body where you can see the consistency isn't quite even, as noticeable in the close ups. There's a couple of dings along the top horn that weren't sanded out before the refinish, so those are visible too. There's a ding in the carve on the back, as well as a few dimples around the body. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look good, they're freshly polished with minor wear only, 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
