Fender '62 Strat, sonic blue, made in Japan 2014. Sonic blue... it's been too long since we were graced with a Strat in this glorious hue! The combo of the vibrant, summery blue with a pretty rosewood board and creamy plastics lend this an appealing California-in-the-60s coastal cool... it looks awesome. The neck has the classic '62 style round, slim C profile; an instantly familiar and friendly profile that's never an effort in the hands. The tone is awesome: these recent versions of the vintage Strat single use a ceramic bar magnet and sound terrific. There's a heap of attack and jangle mixed with a crispy, crunchy midrange that makes this hard to put down. All in all: if you're going for that classic Strat tone, you might as well look awesome at the same time, right?
