Fender '67 Reissue Strat, made in Japan 1993-4, vintage white. This has a classic vintage aesthetic, but it's actually quite a rare catch. There was but a single '67 style model in the mid-90s catalogs, it was a premium model with some standout features. Visually, you get the bold early CBS-era logos and a maple board with no skunk-stripe, but the good stuff is under the hood. This has an alder body and a set of USA ST-Vintage pickups, but it's also got premium pots, vintage cloth wiring and a deluxe steel block bridge. These additional classy factory touches add some sparkle and clarity to the top end and a thick, juicy bass; it's a cut above the average MIJ Strat and will seriously challenge some much pricier USA models. Vintage white is a great finish that seems to improve further with some 'miles on the clock'; the checking lines and rub wear on this indicates it's certainly had a colourful life so far. This Fujigen-era '67 model was replaced later with a Tokai-era '68 Reissue with some Texas Special pickups; also a great model, but this earlier take on the not-quite-signature 'Jimi' Strat has a little extra sparkle and magic owing to the sublime wood selection and finish quality from the famed Fujigen master luthiers. These don't come up very often, we nab them whenever possible, but this is only the second one in several years we've ever managed to nab. So... if you love it (wait til you play it, you're in for a treat!) then don't think for too long as it could be a long wait for the next one.

Model: Fender '67 Reissue Stratocaster  (ST67-95)
Made: Japan, Fujigen Plant, (serial N056409)

Weight: 3.5kg approx

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has a few dimples on the end and bottom edge. Back of the neck has a handful of very shallow scratches, nothing too nasty. The fretboard may have had a fret-polish at some point without being taped up right; there's a bit of rub wear on the board around the higher frets. The back has some checking lines, a few dents and buckle rash scratches concentrated around the cavity, a bit of rub wear and a chip approx 20x6mm near the rear strap pin. The sides have a few marks; some discolouration and  dimples near the front strap pin, some little dents and small chips in the shoulder area, a few little dings around from the jack and knobs area. The front is similar; a few little dimples behind the bridge and near the knobs, a chip up from the bridge near the edge, some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: good condition (7/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, but there's no major buzz issues, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
