Fender '68 Reissue Strat, crafted in Japan 1997-00. Fender Japan didn't offer a lot of signature models, but some of the offerings were pretty clearly going for a particular vibe: this is their Hendrix-ish offering. The 60s profile one piece maple neck has a perfectly agreeable slim, round shape; it's very good indeed in the hands. The nicely weighted alder body combines beautifully with the Texas Special pickups for a hot, bluesy tone filled equally with sweetness and grit... this sounds magnificent. The steel block bridge and factory-fitted Schaller F-key tuners are both great quality and offer increased tuning stability and slick feel. The big CBS-era style headstock has gained a lot of fans in recent years, and this particular model is the only one in the catalog with the full set of big bold black decals. The aged maple board and headstock complement the creamy hue of the body perfectly; this really does look amazing. This one is a pleasure on the ears, eyes and hands; you'll struggle to put it down.

There's a couple of chips on the edge, mostly around the input jack area and on the shoulder carve. The front is fairly clean, just a few nicks behind the bridge and around the jack, as well as some play wear around the guard and top horn and the start of some checking around the place. Overall: good condition (7.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear, but there's no major buzz issues, 7/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s.
