Fender Mustang, white with a stripe, crafted in Japan 2005-6. Cool as a cucumber, right? Fender were doing Mustangs with a racing stripe in 1973, and for a year or two there Fender Japan were doing an MG73 model as a reissue of those original muscle-car influenced party machines. We haven't had a white one before: it's got a dashing navy blue stripe and the cute white button tuners adorning the matching headstock. It's a great look, no doubt about it. It's not just aesthetics though: this is so much fun. The neck is a slim little number with a short scale and a vintage C shape, which paired with the small body and cheeky trem makes for super easy playing. The tone on offer is punchy and immediate, with a walloping attack and naturally short sustain, perfect for punk, grunge and surf stuff. It doesn't take itself too seriously, it's just here for a good time and intends to look and sound great doing it. Just like yourself, yes?
