Fender American Standard Jazz Bass V, candy apple, 2008. If you need one bass to cover all your gigs, it's hard to think of a better option than a JBV. This one hails from 2008, which is fortuitous... Fender updated the model in 08 with a nice new rolled steel bridge and a thinner finish formula that lets the body breathe a little better. The tone is rock solid: heaps of punch and attack with a crisp, clear treble and a rounded, tight bass. The low-B is tight and tuneful, which is not always the case on vintage-style 5-strings... this one feels and sounds like it ought. The candy apple finish on this has a few marks from a decade of gigs, but it adds to the charm of the bass; it's a working instrument with a few stories to tell. The super sturdy SKB Fender case is a welcome addition; this one is ready to go with you on all your adventures.

The sides have a few marks, mostly a series of little marks from the shoulder area around past the strap pin to the bottom side near the knobs, as well as a few on the bottom horn. The front is pretty clean, just a handful of minor dimples near the knobs and bridge and some play scratches on the guard and top horn. Overall: good condition (7.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets look good with minor wear only; 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/130s.
