- Guitarchives
Fender American Standard Tele, natural gloss, made in 2012. The Am Standard was a very long running and highly regarded series. This is a later version, so you get a few fun touches: six pressed saddle bridge, a belly carve and a no-load tone pot. It's got sturdy hardware and a comfy modern C shape neck, so it holds tune nicely and feels reassuring in the hands. The tone has plenty of shimmer and sparkle, with a balanced midrange and a rounded low end. If you're after a great rhythm guitar, this has a certain simplicity about it that translates really well for strummed parts. Classic look, modern convenience... can't go too wrong, right?
