Fender Strat, gold sparkle. This one is a fun one! We scored it from a favourite local customer who runs a gorgeous recording studio a little way south of Hobart. It's basically a 1991 American Vintage '62 Stratocaster, but with a replaced body. The body is a Mexican-made Classic 60s Strat body in a limited run gold sparkle finish. It's got a two point tremolo with classy brass saddles and the original American Vintage '57/62 pickups and wiring. It plays well: you wouldn't guess it wasn't an original factory pair from how it sits in the hands, it certainly has plenty of integrity to it. The neck is great, it's a comfy slim rounded C made from some lovely tight maple and dark rosewood. The tone is bright and crisp, with a wide warm midrange and a plonky, assured bass. It has appeared on a few local recordings apparently, and no wonder: I imagine it would sound great in a studio setting. Needless to say, that gold finish is unreal... get it under stage lights with your matching sunglasses ASAP.
