Fender Ed O'Brien Sustainer Stratocaster, olympic white, made in Mexico 2017. Ed plays in a little band called Radiohead, so he's partially responsible for some of the most enduring guitar-based records of the 90s and surely a certified mad-dog. His signature model has some cool trad touches: crispy white finish, vintage hardware and logos, those classic curves. It also has some pretty unusual tricks: a mini-humbucker in the neck, Japanese legends Fernandes' sustainer pickup in the neck, and a big beefy neck not dissimilar from the early Jeff Beck models. The neck is a chunky V to C shape, with heaps of meat in the back and a modern 9.5" radius, it's surprisingly comfy and will make fast friends with the right pair of hands. The Sustainer has an on/off switch and a three way mode switch, so you can get a bunch of great tones out of it. I feel the hidden pizzaz is the Texas Special in the middle, it doles out the angular Strat-spank with plenty of girth and roundness with glee. This is but a couple of renditions of Creep shy of showroom condition, so if you were looking  at a new example, save yourself a few avocados and nab this crispy creature. The panic! The vomit!
