Fender '52 Tele, vintage natural, crafted in Japan 1999-02. The Tele is the quintessential electric guitar, and this is pretty much the quintessential Telecaster. Being a '52 style offering, you get the skinny headstock with the spaghetti logo, a soft V neck with a maple fretboard, a one ply black guard, three saddle bridge and an ash body. There was two versions of the '52 in the Japan catalog at the time, and this was the upmarket one. That means you get a USA swamp ash body, brass saddles and USA-made Texas Special single coil pickups. That adds up perfectly when you plug it in: it's a hot, beefy take on the classic Tele-twang. The neck pickup is glassy and clear with a punchy fast bass, while the bridge pickup abounds in midrange kick and loves a dirty amp. This is a very enjoyable guitar, and will surely outpace many USA examples for feel and tone.
