Fender '52 Tele, black, made in Japan 2012. We love a TL52 around here, they're a great model. It's funny to say, but it's actually tricky to find a black one... the usually only come in blonde or natural. The combination of the golden maple board and the tuxedo finish is awesome, it makes the classic curves pop nicely. The tone on offer is percussive and shimmering, with a slicing attack balanced by a rounded plump low end. It's a disarming and enjoyable sound, perfect for big open chords and slow-burn lead lines. It's fairly light for an ash body, the neck is comfy, slim and sturdy, and it's all just a bit too easy really. Simple pleasures, right?
